Fiona McNally a Senior Counsellor at The Abingdon Bridge completed the London Marathon last week. Here's what she had to say about her experience.
"When I was awarded my 2020 London Marathon place, little did I know it would be another 3 years until I would be plodding my way around the Big Smoke. What seemed like a good idea at the time, later proved to be a commitment I could have done without given the arrival of various physical health challenges! Not one to give up, I battled through training somewhat haphazardly and travelled to London expecting to walk most of the route but despite typical British weather meaning a very wet start, I surpassed all my expectations and managed to complete the course in 4 hours 58 minutes and 44 seconds (and more importantly, in relatively good shape!) The atmosphere was fantastic and it was an amazing experience...and in case you are wondering, having vowed never to run again I'm in the ballot again for next year!"
Congratulations Fiona, we are all very proud of you!
